Class Reflection

At class, I set up a Diigo account to bookmark my favorite sites. I had already had an RSS feed for a while, but I started to realize that Diigo will work better for me. Instead of seeing when there is an update, I just like to go to that site and read other people's comments on posts. After looking at some of the wikis in class, I thought of a few ways I can use this technology in a math setting. One way is that I could have my kids work collaboratively to solve multiple challenging math problems. Then they can all work out different answers and check each others work. This way, I could have my students work with students in different hours, or even different schools!

  1. I appreciated your suggestion about Diggo- I think that would be a good direction for my students. My only problem is that not all of them have e- mail addresses. Should I use e-pals?

  2. Thanks for your insights. I will investigate Diigo but also need to get a better handle on Delicious. I'm looking forward to working collaboratively with a couple sixth grade teachers to prepare a student activity for next year. Hopefully students will have e-mail access.
